The VRS Line - Making Wind Power More Reliable
A major challenge for wind turbines wind turbines, large and small, is achieving stable power output that can be efficiently and effectively channeled into the power grid, especially – but not only – when wind speeds drop or fluctuate significantly, as is the case in urban settings.
These fluctuations in wind speed not only limit the overall power generated by the turbine, but also place great stress on the components and electronics of small and large wind turbines alike, and require complicated solutions that are both expensive and time-consuming to maintain.
Variable Wind Solution’s proprietary VRS technology alleviates these stresses on turbine components while improving overall operating efficiency and reducing capital and O&M costs. Learn more about the VRS.
Connec2Grid - Bringing Small Wind to the Grid
The market penetration of small wind turbines today – especially in urban settings – has been to a large degree limited by technical and performance constraints, as well as high equipment costs. Combined with the time and logistics associated with connecting to the grid, this has prevented the application of small wind turbines to their full potential.
Variable Wind Solutions Connec2Grid solution aims to help resolve many of these issues by not only facilitating the grid-connect of up to 5 small wind turbines through a single point-of-contact with the grid, but also be reducing the per unit cost of each turbine by eliminating the need for each turbine to have power conditioning electronics to ensure that the power being generated is of grid quality.
